Blast Ball is an introduction to baseball, played with small team sizes, soft "oversize" baseballs, lots of parent involvement, and an emphasis on fun. All parents are expected to contribute in some way on the field during the season.
Parents Need to Provide:
Participants are supplied with a colourful, numbered T-shirt style jersey and an RMLL baseball cap (both of which they keep).
Parents must supply kids with running shoes or cleats, a baseball glove, and an athletic supporter or compression shorts (mandatory in Little League). Players must wear athletic pants (sweats, leggings, or baseball pants). Shorts are not permitted.
This is the division for all players that are Little League age 4 (age as at August 31, 2019). Link to Little League age chart: Age Chart
Players must have a date of birth between September 1, 2014 and August 31, 2015. Exceptions must be approved by the league in advance.
Cost for Blast Ball is $100 for Regular Season House League. Players registering after March 15, 2019 must pay a $50 late registration fee, so please register before this date.
The season generally runs from the first week of May until the last week of June. Practices/games are held on various evenings Monday through Thursday, with one scheduled time per week. Practices/games start at 6:15 pm and are over at about 7:15 pm. The schedule will be published after enough parents have volunteered to coach and teams can be finalized, usually in mid-April.
Where Games are Played:
Blast Ball games are played at the Windsor Park Diamond and Woodbine Diamonds and every attempt is made to schedule players at the Diamond that is closest to their residence address, as indicated in the registration system. The diamonds for the league can be found here, with links to maps - Diamonds
