Coach/Player Development

Rocky Mountain Little League (RMLL) needs dedicated volunteer coaches for the upcoming baseball season, and who is more dedicated to their child’s success than YOU

At RMLL, we understand that everyone starts somewhere, and that's why we provide comprehensive coaching training before the season kicks off to help with skill development and planning effective practices! This way, the season remains a fun and rewarding experience for both players and families.

And don’t worry - RMLL covers all costs associated with coach training!

We are committed to equipping our coaches with the essential tools for success on and off the field. When you become a coach with RMLL, you become part of a community that values the positive impact of youth sports culture. We work closely with the  Positive Coaching Alliance  to ensure that our coaches are educated on the power of positivity in shaping young athletes.

If you've ever considered becoming a coach but felt unsure about your abilities to teach baseball, fear not! The most important aspect of coaching kids is to keep them engaged in the game and to have fun learning the beautiful game of baseball! If you are fun-loving, enthusiastic with a positive attitude, then you’re a perfect fit.

Make a positive impact and shape the future of our young athletes by becoming a coach with RMLL and create an unforgettable baseball season for your team!

RMLL needs at least two rostered volunteer coaches per team. Little League Canada and RMLL requires all volunteers (including head coaches and assistants) to complete annual vulnerable sector checks (administered by Calgary Police Services) and Little League Canada volunteer forms/screening procedures. Prospective/interested coaches are asked to submit ePIC background check requests as soon as possible.  See the RMLL Documents/Rules page and scroll to LITTLE LEAGUE VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS - 2024 for full details.

Baseball has been his life! Al’s involvement as a player, coach and instructional trainer has spanned over 60 years. For the past 44 years, he has been training coaches and managers who have had an interest in working with children wanting to learn and play baseball. The game of baseball will never change, but the way we teach our children has changed considerably in the past few years. The majority of children only want to play and may not be concerned if they become great or even good. As every child is unique and will have strengths and weaknesses, we must do everything we can to help each one reach attainable goals with the skills of baseball/softball. They must always be in a safe environment, have fun through activity, be taught to improve their performance and, through your help, build the confidence in each individual child to succeed in this wonderful game!

Come out and experience his new instructional program. It will be truly beneficial to all coaches and managers working with these age groups and interested parents are always welcome. As this will be an event to enjoy, wear comfortable clothing, bring a glove, a lot of enthusiasm and Al will bring the program to life for you!

A Food Bank donation will be greatly appreciated.
